I hope you are doing well.

I have now spent more than a week with the Ti-755A speakers, and they have been running for many hours, conservatively about 40 hours so far. I would like to provide you with my honest impressions.

First, the aesthetics are wonderful. They look unique and unlike anything I have ever seen. In my opinion, your speakers are "industrial art", very sturdy and clearly built to last. I much prefer this to modern commercial speakers that prioritize aesthetics over function.

Regarding the sound, they are completely different from any speaker I have owned. It is clear they miss some top-end sparkle, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing; on "hot" recordings, they tame the harshness well. I tried pairing them with a tweeter, which fills the top end, but I ultimately prefer listening to them raw as I continue to understand their character. Without the added tweeter, the presentation feels more coherent and natural.

In terms of bass, the speakers certainly produce it, though it doesn't extend to the very low frequencies. There is an octave missing that is audible in certain material, but those genres aren't suited for these speakers anyway. In my view, these are not for "rockers," but for those who enjoy simpler music at gentle volumes.

The vocals are the true highlight. They are emphasized and forward-sounding, which makes the experience very enveloping and engaging.

Overall, these speakers are great fun in my system. While they may not be the "best" in terms of technical performance, they have a soul that measurements can't capture. I believe these are not for beginners or those who listen to a complex array of genres, but for lovers of acoustics, jazz, and vocals, it is an easy speaker to get lost in.

I have been pairing them with my Audion 300B and Alan Eaton 45. They sound different with each, and I don't have a preference yet as I am still getting to know them.

I am not very good at describing "sound" so I hope this feedback is interesting to you, and thank you again for these great speakers.

Best regards,

Ben

Episode.2

Thank you for your insights regarding the room sizes. Despite my vacation flight being early tomorrow morning, my curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to set up the Ti-755A in my dedicated listening room before leaving. Please find a few photos of the setup attached.

In this smaller space, the sound is indeed very tight and intimate, much like a private concert. I’ve been listening to the track "She's Not There" by Christy Baron, and it sounds very good through these speakers.

However, I have found that the amplifier pairing in this room isn't ideal. I am using a parallel single-ended tube amplifier with four KT120s, which provides too much power and lacks the finesse this pairing requires. Because this amplifier is far too heavy to move, I am limited to this setup in the listening room. I believe I still prefer the speakers in the larger living area, likely due to the different amplifiers I use there.

Overall, I agree with you that the smaller room offers a more immediate and intimate presentation. However, given my current amplifier constraints, I will likely station them in the living room when they are in rotation.

My flight is in just a few hours. I wish you well and will be in touch again soon.

Maker's Note

The TI-755A is a speaker that responds with absolute honesty to the listener's space and amplifier. The process of discovering one's own unique sound—just as Ben has done—is the true essence and joy of vintage audio.
