Phase Equaliser

Sound Diffuser

Introducing the New Lowther Phase Equalizer
For over half a century, all Lowther driver units have featured a Phase Stabilizer, a critical component in shaping and refining the sound quality. Now, after decades of proven performance, this component has been reborn with enhanced design and function: the new Lowther Phase Equalizer.
Unlike its predecessor, the new Phase Equalizer features a highly sophisticated structure, precisely engineered to control phase and pressure behavior within the driver unit. It goes beyond simply minimizing unwanted frequency cancellations at the center cone—it optimizes the movement of the diaphragm and the wave propagation from the driver, ensuring greater stability and accuracy across the entire frequency range.
The redesigned side angles between the Equalizer and the inner cone, along with eight precisely positioned tubular vents, evenly distribute the air pressure created during the cone's reciprocating motion. This not only suppresses unwanted resonance but also maintains exceptional tonal balance.
The result is a remarkable improvement in transparency and stability, especially in the mid and high frequencies. Instruments gain a greater sense of separation, and the effect is often likened to adding a well-designed horn to the front of the driver—without the bulk.
Installation is quick and simple: the new Phase Equalizer screws directly in place of the previous Phase Stabilizer and is fully compatible with all Lowther drive units. No modification is required.
Available as an optional upgrade, the new Phase Equalizer brings a significant sonic improvement to existing speaker systems.
Note: The Phase Equalizer comes pre-installed on all EX Series driver units.
